free backgrounds computer wallpaper pictures

I saw this query come up in the searches and realized that not everyone is familiar with changing the background on their computer. The easiest way is to find a picture you like here, click on it to get the big version in a new browser window, then just right click the picture and choose "set as background" or "set as wallpaper." To control the look of wallpaper, like to tile little pictures, or to make sure a big picture doesn't get cropped or distorted, just right click your desktop, choose properties, and then desktop. Under position, you can choose tile, center, or stretch. Try them out! This is all for Windows XP, but it's very similiar on other systems.
