The TAV Celebrity Theater

This old theater on Vine between Hollywood and Sunset, seen here after a few fires right before they renovated the art deco facade for a big development, is where the Merv Griffen Show was shot. These shots are all part of my Hollywood photography series called Hollywood Downside Up. I posted a lot of other pictures from the series at that site, all sized for different monitor resolutions so they make great Hollywood desktop wallpaper pictures.

Beatles Walk of Fame Star day after George Harrison's Death

The outpouring of grief for George Harrison the day after he died completely covered the Beatles' star on the West End of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We have George Harrison posters for sale at our poster store. I was suprised to learn from John Peterson, the star cleaner, that there isn't a star for George, just the star for the Beatles. There is a star for John Lennon.

Marilyn Wall Mural

This Marilyn Wall Mural is on the side of a parking lot on Highland, south of Hollywood Blvd. This shot makes nice desktop wallpaper because it has sky space at the top that's good for putting all your icons in.

Mural near a drug rehab clinic on Hollywood Blvd.

This is one I should have put on the Hollywood Downside Up site. The Mural is on a wall next to the driveway to the parking lot of a drug rehab clinic on Hollywood Boulevard. Across and down the street is the Big Nick at Night ad with Lucille Ball's Vitamita Vegemen episode, which is behind Lucille Ball's star on the Walk of Fame. It's the corner of Gower and Sunset.

In this shot, you can see the Christmas Tree lights on the Capitol Records Building, the Snow White neon sign, The Knickerbocker Hotel, and the Pacific Theater Radio Towers.
