Crazy Horse Monument
Robin had seen the Crazy Horse Monument 20 years before, and was impressed by the sheer amount of rock that had been moved since then. I was impressed by the museum, which wasn't even there 20 years ago when she first visited. It's a little hard to get an idea of scale, but the mountain is quite a ways away, and it is an entire mountain being carved into a statue. Very impressive.

Mount Rushmore through the trees
One of the off-center views through the woods that most people miss when they visit Mount Rushmore.

Crazy Horse Monument from afar
It's a little easier to get an idea of the size of this mountain/sculpture from this wide shot.

Mount Rushmore Entrance
This is how you see Mount Rushmore when you first walk up from the parking lot. Very impressive, with the state flags on pillars.

Mount Rushmore with State Flags
A video would have been good here, but I didn't have the video camera with me. The flags were fluttering, the snow was about to start falling, and the air had that crispness to it that feels perfect.

Craggy Peak off from Mt. Rushmore
Off to the sides of the main sculpture of Mount Rushmore you can find these beautiful peaks of rock that look right out of a movie.

George Washing on Mt. Rushmore
