Tambi Larsen won an Academy Award for Art Direction in 1956, the highlight of a career as an artist and art director. When he wasn't working in Hollywood, he was hanging out on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai, drawing. This drawing (and one other) are now available for download (in computer background size) from the Hawaii beach accommodation website for the Hale Kilo I'a, or house where you watch fish. The Larsen Family Trust now runs their former Hawaii home as a vacation rental. If you stay there, you will get to enjoy prints of Larsen's work, which hang throughout the house. To download the two drawings available at their site, visit the Tambi Larsen Art page..

The image is really nice, but it is still too small for a desktop. The original resolution is 1461px × 1448px. It is unsuitable for any HR widescreen display. But nice tip, thanks.

Yes, a little small, Yetti, for the widescreens, but, if you have image editing software, it's easy enough to paste it in the middle of some water background, or anything, really....
