The Beauty of Touch Up: A Study in Post Production

Humpback whale off Tahiti photo by Mike Eilers, retouch by Carl BringasA while back we posted some underwater photography from Mike Eilers. Recently, we got an email from his friend Carl Bringas, a photography and touch-up maestro, who offered to let us post some of his work in the Carl Bringas Gallery. Of particular note here is the comparison of the before and after shots of Mike's, like this humpback whale off the coast of Tahiti. Go check out the same shot, before touch-up, in Mike's underwater photography gallery.

Carl also retouched the sea turtle off the coast of Maui photo, and the detail just glows as compared to the original--which is very good and clear but looks distinctly like it was underwater, compared to the retouched.

If you need this kind of magic performed on your photographs, or if you're looking for an extraordinary photographer, contact Carl Bringas through his website. We're sure you'll be just as astounded as we are!

Hi Scott,

I want to thank you for the kind words on my work and for the space given to my images as well as for the link to my web site, http://CarlBringasPhotography.com.

It would appear there are many avid photographers that visit your site and as such, I would like them to know that all digital images can benefit from post edit work. In fact, I think all images benefit. Similar to film, a final images needs some kind of post edit work, be it slight contrast adjustment, color adjustment, etc. These subtle adjustments make for a significant difference when printing or otherwise.

Besides my wedding and headshot photography, you were kind enough to mention my post production services and I would like your readers to know that my post production service is available to anyone that wants the most out of their images from family images to underwater photography.

I would like to extend a discount to my services should your readers mention your blog when contacting me.

Thank you,

Carl Bringas
