We spent a great day of barbecue at El Capitan Beach, El Capitan State Beach, about 17 miles north of Santa Barbara, California. The area has campgrounds, day use, a store, showers, grills, tables, and trails all over the place.  Great place to spend a day. These California beach pictures make great desktop wallpaper.

Big Bear Lake CaliforniaWhile working on my friend Vince's web site for his Big Bear vacation rental house, a log cabin right near Bear Mountain Ski Resort, I decided to add some Big Bear wallpaper pictures. These are shots that my wife Robin took from the top of the Bear Mountain ski slopes.  I couldn't take these pictures because, well, I can't ski that well. No way could I have skied down that mountain! She skis circles around me. Literally. She even took a video while she did it. She took these breathtaking shots of Big Bear Lake, the San Gorgonio Mountain Range, and the ski slopes of Bear Mountain Resort in 2003. We have other pictures, including pictures of Vince's cabin, on his Big Bear cabin rental web site.

Los Angeles and Hollywood at Night at Christmas

I added some night pictures to the Los Angeles gallery, and one to the Hollywood Gallery. These were taken at Christmas time, and the Hollywood shot includes the Christmas Tree lights on top of the Capitol Records building. These Los Angeles pictures make excellent wallpaper for dark themed desktops. For those of you who are unfamiar with how to get these pictures onto your desktop as a background, I made a forum entry just for you.

I've had my photography essay of Hollywood, Hollywood Downside Up, on line for a few years now. I have hundreds of pictures of Hollywood, and I've wanted to put this set up for a long time.  So, today, the 24th anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon, I've finally put these pictures up. They make awesome desktop wallpaper, and some of them, with the right lightening, make good web page backgrounds.
