Art from an Academy Award Winner

Tambi Larsen won an Academy Award for Art Direction in 1956, the highlight of a career as an artist and art director. When he wasn't working in Hollywood, he was hanging out on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai, drawing. This drawing (and one other) are now available for download (in computer background size) from the Hawaii beach accommodation website for the Hale Kilo I'a, or house where you watch fish. The Larsen Family Trust now runs their former Hawaii home as a vacation rental. If you stay there, you will get to enjoy prints of Larsen's work, which hang throughout the house. Platte Clove Catskills Pictures
Platte Clove Waterfall, Catskills Forest Preserve, New YorkGreat pictures from Platte Clove, in the Catskill Forest Preserve, added to our Catskill Mountains pictures page. Being a Californian, I was suprised there wasn't more spring time budding going on here in upstate New York. I've been told we're just a couple of weeks early. Live and learn. I'll head back to this waterfall in the summer and fall for the various seasonal views.

Maine Pictures for Wallpaper Backgrounds
When we're in Maine, we don't get to the coast much. But we don't mind. The lobster is just as good inland (especially at Ted's Clam Shack north of Sanford). We hang out at the lake. We go to Mort Mather's organic farm, where he grows fresh vegetables for his son's southern Maine restaurant. We eat. We read. We play music. We take lots of pictures. It doesn't get much better.

Catskills Mountains Wallpaper Pictures
