Tambi Larsen won an Academy Award for Art Direction in 1956, the highlight of a career as an artist and art director. When he wasn't working in Hollywood, he was hanging out on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai, drawing. This drawing (and one other) are now available for download (in computer background size) from the Hawaii beach accommodation website for the Hale Kilo I'a, or house where you watch fish. The Larsen Family Trust now runs their former Hawaii home as a vacation rental. If you stay there, you will get to enjoy prints of Larsen's work, which hang throughout the house. Our peace-o-lantern from Halloween 2004, with friends and the moon. This makes a great myspace background, with the dark space for a long column down the left side og the page, and a small column down the right. There are only a few pictures here, but they're perfect for Halloween backgrounds or Halloween wallpaper, so I just threw them up here. Happy Halloween.

Yankee Stadium 2006Here's a few pictures of a great day at Yankee Stadium. These photographs make great myspace backgrounds or plain ol' free desktop wallpaper. This was the day that A-Rod hit a walk-off home run in the 10th to win the interleague game with the Atlanta Braves. Spencer and I took our cousin and uncle George in what turned out to be a memorable day that we thought would be rained out. We took the Metro north to Harlem, where we caught the subway up to the stadium. What a great day.

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island pictures

The Statue of Liberty in New York CityWe hadn't done much worthy of photography in quite a while, until our trip to New York this summer, when we finally got to go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I have to admit is was a lot more fun than I thought it would be, especially Ellis Island. I've uploaded a few pictures that work as great desktop wallpaper, web page backgrounds, or as part of a MySpace layout. And if you ever get a chance to visit these two national wonders, I highly recommend it. Well worth the trip, especially the tour inside the base of the statue.

We spent a great day of barbecue at El Capitan Beach, El Capitan State Beach, about 17 miles north of Santa Barbara, California. The area has campgrounds, day use, a store, showers, grills, tables, and trails all over the place. Great place to spend a day. These California beach pictures make great desktop wallpaper.

Being a Californian, I was suprised there wasn't more spring time budding going on here in upstate New York. I've been told we're just a couple of weeks early. Live and learn. That last entry featured winter wallpaper pictures from Robin Supak, my wife. She's about to take a week to go to New York for her uncle George's 80th birthday party. I am loading her down with her Canon Power Shot A80, Nikon Cool Pix with the wide angle lens, and as many flash cards as she can carry. When she gets back, I'll post the best of the New York City and upstate New York winter wallpaper scenes and winter backgrounds.
