Christmas was a blur of light

We've posted four new photographs in Robin's Abstract Photography gallery that were taken over the holiday season, when it's so cold up here in the great white north that she shoots from the car while moving to get the effect she's after.

Adding the Best of Robin's Christmas Abstract Photography to Her Gallery

Abstract photography by Robin SupakRobin has been taking abstract photographs for over a decade now, and has put together quite a collection. I've been remiss in adding some of her best work to her abstract photography gallery here at the photo blog, so here goes.

If you visit Robin's abstract photography gallery at the link above, you'll see that we've added some newer shots to that collection, including a few Christmas lights shots, and some winter road photographs, taken recently.

Robin's light source and motion technique works really well on the white background of upstate New York winter. A few of these shots look like they were taken on the great salt flats, complete with mirage effect.

All of these abstract photographs are available for use and remix through the creative commons license of this site. All we ask is for credit and a link back to here or to Supak.com. Robin's abstract pictures have been used as web site backgrounds, free desktop wallpaper, and as a starting point for various graphic arts and visual arts presentations.

Robin's Abstract Holiday Lights Photography

Her lens-in-motion technique creates patterns out of otherwise motionless lights, creating an otherworldly sensation of light and movement that works well for a wide variety of graphic arts projects like computer backgrounds, sign-making, web-graphics, and artistic endeavors of all kinds.

The picture here is of the Cherry Valley New York Village Christmas tree. The ghostly impression behind and to the left is the town's Civil War monument.

New from Los Angeles

Los Angeles and Hollywood at Night at Christmas

I added some night pictures to the Los Angeles gallery, and one to the Hollywood Gallery. These were taken at Christmas time, and the Hollywood shot includes the Christmas Tree lights on top of the Capitol Records building. These Los Angeles pictures make excellent wallpaper for dark themed desktops. For those of you who are unfamiar with how to get these pictures onto your desktop as a background, I made a forum entry just for you.

Christmas in LA

Not exactly thought of as a yuletide place, Christmas comes to Los Angeles, California, too.  So, for those of you who like pictures of clear, 75 degree days for Christmas, here's some yuletide wallpaper of LA. There's a Christmas Tree wallpaper shot with the Peace on Earth statue, lots of poinsettias, LA City Hall through a Minora, the DWP building, the Music Center, and downtown Los Angeles city wallpaper.
